Renting is expensive. I’m spending around $1400 a month in rent (though it was a bit cheaper than that with a roommate). I’ve also had enough of living with roommates, after over 70 I think I’m okay with that though.

My contract ends in a little over 2 months and as I’m nearing the 10th year of having lived on my own, I’ve started house hunting in a way I’ve never done before. Instead of looking at what I can rent, I’m looking at what I can buy.

This is terrifying!

I never really thought about how much work, thought, and commitment goes into finding a place. And everything seems over priced! Perhaps that’s me being naive.

On the plus side, as I’ve driven around Salt Lake City, Lehi, and Eagle Mountain I’ve gotten to see some views like this one.
